Our Story

When my twins were diagnosed with autism, our lives changed overnight. What should have been a path to answers quickly became a maze of roadblocks, long waitlists, high costs, and very few local resources. There were days I felt completely lost, wondering how families in our county were supposed to find the help their children needed.

Somewhere in the middle of the tears, the prayers, and the determination, God laid it on my heart to do more, to take my families struggle and turn it into something that could bring hope to others. What began as one mother fighting for her children became a mission to fight for all families walking this same road.

That’s how Acts 4 Autism began, out of a need for change and a desire to make a difference for families like ours. Our mission is simple: to connect families with resources, funding, and community right here in Rockingham County, and to remind every parent that they are not alone in this journey.

Mission

To raise awareness and foster understanding of autism in our community. To create meaningful events that bring people together in support and celebration, and to provide direct assistance to families affected by autism who are struggling financially.

We believe that by joining together, families, neighbors, schools, and communities we can create a world where every child is embraced, valued, and empowered to thrive.

Vision

Our vision is to build a stronger, more inclusive Rockingham County by closing gaps in autism support, increasing awareness, and creating meaningful opportunities for connection. We strive for a future where autism acceptance is the norm and families have the tools, resources, and community they need to flourish.
